My Testimony - Robert L. Barnett
In my youth, I was involved in the church as an acolyte. In college, I studied the Bible, and attended several fundamentalist churches. At that time I became a “Born again Christian” and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
Later, I became a Lutheran, and after a few years, I attended the Graduate Theological Union at UC Berkeley. I worked on my Masters Degree in Divinity at the Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, which was part of the Graduate Theological Union.
For the last thirty or more years, I have been a Catholic Christian. I know some of you may think that Catholics are not Christians, but nothing could be further from the truth. I am still very much the same “Born again Christian” I once was. I find Catholicism to be a tremendous Christian Religion.
Since I joined the Catholic Church, I taught Religious Education, bible principally, and held many posts within the Church. I also began a Marian Devotion and Rosary Website "Marian Devotion and the Rosary", which is intended to encourage the Praying of the Rosary. The motto of MarianDevotion.org is “To Jesus through Mary”.
Regarding Biblical Christianity, I follow Charles Stanley very closely. My wife and I watch his TV broadcast most Sundays, and I receive his “Daily Devotional”. I also follow Bill Perkins (Million Mighty Men), and Rick Warren (Saddleback Church).
My faith, hope and love have been blessed, and by praying the rosary, my relationship with Jesus has grown. My faith, hope and love also grows through my frequent prayers asking that I be strengthen to do God’s Will in my life, and to make good choices. Lastly, I grow through my discipline with my prayer commitments.
